This post is best read while playing either of the following:
Well I'm not actually referring to pets, WTFs and green peas, but I am referring to activist groups like PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals), WWF (World Wildlife Fun) and Greenpeace. I've been signing petitions for Greenpeace for quite a while now. I've signed petitions for PETA and WWF only recently. Nevertheless, I find myself able to relate with what they're saying.
Of Animals
Just a few days ago, I heard a student was about to dissect frogs next week. I thought that frog dissection was cruel and unnecessary. They've got virtual dissection on the internet, for frogs' sake! Step into the 21st century people! My classmates had a share of dissection once. The frogs looked pitiful. It was a display of cruelty. I know that Biology is the study of life, but I didn't know that it contradicted its earlier teachings on valuing biodiversity. Studying the study of life doesn't give anyone the right to unnecessarily take lives for the sake of science and learning. What do students of dissection really learn? cruelty? no value for life? animal torture? cutting up live frogs? What do they really learn?
God made me,
God made you,
Even critters of the deep blue,
and He loves me, you,
and them too!
Of Environment
I've been a petition signer for quite some time. Now I give this blog post for Greenpeace. You know what's great about signing petitions? It's the feeling that you did something right even if it is tiny. It's nice to do even one small thing to help protect this earth that God made. From establishing marine reserves, to changing the way energy is produced, from stopping deep sea drilling, to stopping the Japs from whaling, and even to watching how clean Philippine water really is. Greenpeace is really what I would sign petitions for anytime.
My world, your world, his world, her world,
OUR WORLD is worth protecting.
Environment and Animals
When you want to protect the environment and help animals, WWF is the way. I haven't been signing petitions for them for long, but WWF is a real big thing. I see it even at the local mall. I got to hand it to WWF if they can make millions of people turn off their lights for Earth Hour, then we can all probably be taught to change our ways. WWF for a living planet.
If all cause-oriented groups united to help save this planet, then what a wonderful world this could be.
God bless activists!
