Psst...It's Christmas!

AMDG
Here it is. It's Christmas knocking on my doorstep. It's Christmas tomorrow. As I right this blog post, I'm drowning my ears with Disney Christmas carols, so that my soul may be filled with the melodies of Christmas.

It took me quite a long time for me the Christmas spirit to sink in. It might have been because I was no longer anticipating presents (anticipating less, maybe). I was, however, excited for my sister whom I got a present for. (As I said before, it took me a crime-solving TV show called Bones for me to even get the "Psst...it's Christmas!). There's more to Christmas than the presents.

"10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."                                                -Luke 2:10-11 (NKJV)
As I listen to the songs Joy to the World and Silent Night, I am reminded by the essence of the first Christmas of 2000 years ago. I am reminded that Christmas isn't about the presents, the decorations, the lights nor the tree; it's about the Savior's birth.I believe that this should all be our reminder of the season. We should remember the reason for the season.

Yes, the presents, trees, lights and decorations are nice, but let's not allow Santa Claus be the center of our Christmas.

Christmas day is 30 minutes away (at least, as I write this it is.) Christmas comes but once a year, let's not forget the Christ in Christmas.

To those of you who are forgetting the season, I say unto you, "Psst...It's Christmas!"

Have a blessed Christmas!
